South Korean international Park Ji-sung of Manchester United netted his first goal of the 2009-10 season Sunday, raising the possibility that he would emerge from his slump.
Park's goal came in the 7th minute of the second half, the third for the team, as United swept to an impressive 3-1 win against Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Running onto Michael Carrick's chipped pass, Park was able to break into the penalty area without a single Arsenal player making a challenge and the South Korean was still unopposed as he slotted a low shot past goalkeeper Almunia at his near-post, according to the AFP.
It was the first goal earned by Park in nine months. His last goal was scored last May United 's away victory over Arsenal in the semifinals of the Champions League.
Park has had fewer playing chances in the 2009-10 season due to his knee surgery.
Alex Ferguson's side stunned Arsenal with two goals in four minutes in the first half at the Emirates Stadium and were never in danger of surrendering their lead.

박지성은 31일 (현지시간) 영국 런던 에미레이트 스타디움서 열린 아스널과의 2009-10시즌 프리미어리그 24라운드 경기서 후반 7분 팀의 쐐기골을 터뜨려 3-1 완승을 거뒀다.
박지성은 마이클 캐릭의 로빙패스를 이어받아 중앙선부근부터 단독 드리블 돌파한 후 페널티지역 오른쪽까지 침투했다. 이후 골키퍼 알무니아와 마주본 상황에서 강력한 오른발 슈팅으로 아스널 골문 구석을 가르며 올시즌 첫 골을 터뜨렸다.
박지성은 지난해 5월 열린 아스널과의 챔피언스리그 4강 원정경기 선제골 이후 9개월 만에 첫 득점에 성공했다.
박지성은 올시즌 초반 무릎 부상으로 인해 경기 출전 기회가 많지 않았다.
맨유는 전반 4분 동안 두 골을 몰아 넣은 뒤 줄곳 우세를 지켰다.
